Be Still

How many times do we take a moment to be still? To have nothing on in the background. No radio, no television, no computer. Just some time to be still in our souls.

Too often today, we are bombarded by the distraction of everyday life. Sometimes, on the drive into work or on the way home, I turn off the radio and just listen to the hum of the tires and even, then, it seems too loud.

Imagine what the world was like before there were so many people and so much noise. Imagine just hearing the rustling of the wind in the trees, the sound of water in the brooks and the birds. You could hear someone walking miles away. Now, we have so much noise and no time to hear the stillness in our hearts.

I will take a moment this weekend to take some time, to be still.

  1. Julie,
Thanks for visiting my blog! I love it when people leave messages...then I can find you. I really like the mug rugs you are working on right now. I love to make hooked things that I can use in the everyday. I have made mug rugs, but gave them to a friend as a gift. I do have a hot pad that I hooked and use most days.
