Hearts and Flowers!
Happily, I am not posting any winter pictures nor doing any complaining about the weather. Hearts and Flowers came off the Cheticamp frame last evening and now, I will cord and use whip stitching to finish it off. It is 20 x 36 and done all in wool yarn.
On the weekend, I started alittle side project of Felted Clog Slippers. I first was inspired by Phyliss' work at Rughooker and decided to try out my first pair. I will certainly need help from some experienced knitters as I have never worked on circular or double pointed needles, or ever turned a heel. Could be interesting!
This is a picture of the finished slippers.

Hearts and Flowers look great. Have you picked a spot in the house for it's final destination?
ReplyDeleteI can't knit with circular or the short double pointed needles. I knit funny!
Congratulations on finishing hearts and flowers. It is a fine demonstration of how simple can be stunning. I will show it to my new students to inspire them. I'm sure your clogs will keep your feet happy for years to come.
ReplyDeleteLove that rug!!
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteToo funny - the fork stab story! I would have done the same thing!!!
Julie, your hearts and flower rug is gorgeous. Such a simple design, but amazing as well. Those clog slippers look awesome. I'll have to find a pattern for them. They would be great for the cabin. Keep hookin'

Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteHearts and Flowers is beautiful! You should be very proud of another spectacular finish! And the knit clog slippers look so cozy. Will be fun to see your progress. I am in awe of anyone who can knit and have it actually turn out like something. I used to do a fair amount of knitting in younger years. It is tugging at me to try it again, especially when I see the cute slippers you are working on! Have fun!
